Titanic ironstone or ilmenite is a mineral of the oxide class. It contains iron + rare-earth element titanium.
The rock was discovered in 1827 during the expedition of A. Gumbolt to the Ilmen Mountains.
The stone is non-radioactive, contains iron + titanium oxides.
The formula is written as FeTiO3.
The composition of the stone is variable – the rock is characterized by admixture of manganese, magnesium and/or vanadium. The fracture of ilmenite is rakish.
Hardness by Mohs is 5-6 points, and density is 4.7 g/cm³.
When grinding the mineral, the powder is brownish-black in color.
The stone is not dissolved by acids, has weak magnetic properties.
Ilmenite helps to: improve blood composition; normalize the hematopoiesis system; cure diseases of the blood, hematopoiesis and cardiovascular system.
It is recommended to use ilmenite for men over 18 years of age. Especially well suited for athletes and people working in the power bodies, jurisprudence.
